Join Megan & Alex on our yoga and wellness retreat in beautiful Southeastern France for 5 days of yoga, treatments, rest and relaxation.
 
The beautiful 600 year old French manor is located in the Provence-Alpes, a few steps away from the River Rhone. Provence is a region in southeastern France known for its diverse landscapes. Surrounded by nature, you'll be able to switch off from the daily grind and re-connect to your power, to your body, to YOU.

UNWIND AND ARRIVE
A yoga class designed to help you transition from your journey to France into the next 6 days of retreat and wellness. We will have a twisting, lengthening and detoxifying yin class which will leave you forgetting about planes, taxis, luggage and the stresses of home. We will breathe engaging the diaphragm and meditate on what our intentions, goals and desires are for this time in Provence.

Tuesday October 1st
 
GROUNDING
We explore the foundations of postures, slowing down and breaking down postures we work from the ground up. Strengthening our balance starts with the feet. We explore the ankles and wrists, how to strengthen, increase flexibility and listen to these crucial but often forgotten parts of the body.

WORKSHOP - BLEND YOUR OWN FACIAL OIL
 
TRANSITIONS
We will explore the space between postures in this yang and yin class. Forgetting about the final pose we will try to suspend time and enjoy the journey of movement. Staying present, pushing away the ego and embracing the practice of movement in a holistic way. Finishing our practice with a guided meditation on staying present.

Wednesday October 2nd
 
LEGS FOR DAYZ
We move from the foundation up. Let us examine the power and beauty of our legs! How do we listen and adapt the different components of our legs to aid in safer and stronger movement between poses. We will be combining elements of HIT, pilates and yoga to pinpoint specific muscles groups and get our legs working with us not against us.

LOWER BODY RELEASE
Using props we will look at space and myofacial release on our lower body. Straps, blocks and balls will be incorporated to access flexibility and support of DOMS.

Thursday October 3rd
 
FIRE THAT CORE
Blast away your perceptions of what the core means. We will be exploring all areas of the ‘core’ and how to engage and release. Forget washboard abs and discover the reality of what a strong core feels like.

GRATITUDE AND BODY LOVE
In this dance inspired yoga class we will play around with organic, sensual and musical movement. Let us get in touch with our bodies and love them a lot more for everything they do. Filling our breath and minds with positivity and confidence we will then head out for a night of celebration, wine and delicious food in a local town.

Friday October 4th
 
TO INVERT OR NOT TO INVERT-THAT IS THE QUESTION!
What is an inversion? Why do we do them? How do we do them? This partner work workshop will be playful, fun and supportive. Let’s see how many of us we can get upside down and how many times!

WORKSHOP - MAKE YOUR OWN MASSAGE BAR
 
BALANCED BALANCE
We will be playing about with different kinds of balance using our hands, elbows, arms, feet an legs as different foundation points. This class will end with a balancing yoga Nidra to bring full circle our retreat!

SUNRISE WALK AND MEDITATION
Take a walk to a beautiful lookout point where we will find a comfortable place to sit and meditate on our experiences, feelings and learnings during our time in France. Give yourself time to feel gratitude and thanks for everything you and your body have achieved over the last 6 days.

La Vieille Maison d’Art is a 600-year old traditional stone Maison de Maître just a few steps away from the River Rhône, where peaceful riverside walks await. Located in a tiny village boasting tradition, heritage, local produce and a delicious speciality sausage! It offers a simple selection of local amenities with a bakery and local bars. It’s in a small, tranquil village right in the centre of the ‘Golden Triangle’ between Nimes, Arles, and Avignon. The village, with its handful of cafes and a small boulangerie, dates back to medieval times and still has tiny streets once suitable for horses rather than cars, offering a peaceful setting, perfect for experiencing true Provençal village life. From the village you can enjoy a wonderful walk along the river to Avignon, where beautiful barges float by and collect wild thyme and figs.
 
Many of the local villages offer a selection of activities including horse riding in Lansac (8km), canoeing and kayaking along the Gardon River (15km) and wine tasting tours in the famous village of Chateau Neuf des Papes.
 
Notably, Avignon, is a must-see UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the well preserved old town protected by its ramparts and the 14th Century Palace of the Popes. The town is a wonderful day out with historical monuments, museums and churches to satisfy all your cultural needs.
 
Similarly, the towns of Nimes and Arles are full of history and culture with markets offering all the fabulous delicacies of the region including wines, cheeses and charcuterie, as well as the Montmajour Abbey and Roman ruins.
 
The Provence countryside boasts beautiful scenery ideal for exploring on foot or by bicycle. The towns of St Remy de Provence and Les Beaux de Provence offer the charm and beauty of true Provençal life, with winding streets and pavement cafes with many boutiques and treats for all to indulge in and enjoy.
